Squadron makes official move to Izaak Walton League of America

It’s been a year in the making, the Mt Airy Composite Squadron has officially moved to Izaak Walton League of America, Mt Airy Chapter, IWLA 6642. Having achieved a unit consensus, meeting nights have now moved to Wednesdays. The new location will foster an opportunity to grow in programs and membership. We look forward to working with the Izaak Walton League and are grateful for their support. See you all there.

  • Physical Training is observed the first week of every month; this is the only meeting that begins at a different location and will end at IWLA. A Plan Of The Day is issued by the Cadet Commander every week detailing meeting location and agenda. Casual fitness clothing (black shirt, black shorts), weather appropriate is the uniform of the day.
  • Aerospace Education is the main topic of the second week of every month. The uniform of the day is generally Class B Blues.
  • Emergency Services training and preparation provides the material for the third week of every month. The IWLA is the perfect setting for continuing this program. The uniform of the day is ABU’s (or BDU’s if that is what you have).
  • The fourth week is Promotion Night. Cadets report in their Dress Blues, Class A (or B with tie if they don’t have a coat). Parents are invited to help celebrate their accomplishments. We are privileged to enjoy a truly unique group of motivated youths who are eager to learn, lead and fly.
