Field Training Exercise for Mt. Airy’s Ground Team Cadets

08/24/2008 – Mt. Airy’s ground team members and trainees had the opportunity to participate in a field training exercise at Sharp’s Waterford Farm on Sunday, August 24th, along with members of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Composite Squadron.  Search and rescue tasks for Level 3 ground team certification were the focus of the day.  Cadets and officers conducted a mock missing persons search, offered instruction in mapping and land navigation, and covered skills required for locating an ELT.     

1st Lt Denise Sharp, along with C/Lt Col Zach Bowen and C/CMSgt Josh Newsome assisted with training.  Cadets Austin Cirulli and Josh Bowen attended as GTM3 trainees.
